ACT 8 is the eighth annual Wisconsin AIDS bike ride to raise funds for AIDS Network and raise awareness of HIV/AIDS. The ride will cover four days and 300 miles on a bike. The riders are 100% supported before and during the ride. The ride raises unrestricted funds for AIDS Network, the state designated AIDS support organization in 13 south central Wisconsin counties.
Eight years ago a number of volunteers and staff at AIDS Network decided to produce a local 6 day ride based on the format of the Heartland AIDS ride. It was called ACT I, or AIDS Network Cycles Together. It has evolved into the Wisconsin AIDS Ride, a four day ride through south central Wisconsin.
Sponsors help offset the costs of producing the ride by providing funds for the opening and closing ceremonies, meals and participant incentives as well as services.
AIDS Network’s mission is to remain well respected by our clients, community and financial partners, while providing comprehensive HIV/AIDS prevention services including core and support services facilitating the enhanced well-being and quality of life of people affected and living with HIV/AIDS and related illnesses.
